Bayern Innovativ

Inspiring spaces for exchange, innovation and movement

Project overview

Bayern Innovativ GmbH is an innovation and networking organisation founded in 1995, with its headquarters in Nuremberg and additional offices in Augsburg and Munich. As a wholly owned subsidiary of LfA Förderbank Bayern, the company supports businesses – particularly SMEs and start-ups – in technology and knowledge transfer, helping to strengthen the competitiveness of Bavaria’s economy.

At its Augsburg location, the company had previously occupied office space on the third floor of the technology centre, whose layout offered limited opportunities for further development. The existing office clusters, each accommodating four workstations, were separated by drywall partitions, providing neither visual connection nor open communication areas. In addition, dedicated event and meeting spaces were lacking.

The objective of the project was therefore to create transparent and flexible spaces that reflect the company’s core purpose of networking, encourage internal collaboration and enable events to be hosted within the company’s own premises – without disrupting everyday office operations.

Planning & Concept

The planning was carried out by WAGNER (Patrick Bley), supported by specialist consultants in the fields of heating and sanitary engineering, electrical and lighting design, as well as kitchen planning.

The existing spatial layout, featuring a central corridor and separated four-person offices, was completely reconfigured. The space was clearly divided into meeting and event areas alongside dedicated workspaces. Transparent glass partitions create a cohesive sense of space while maximising visual connections and sightlines.

In addition, carefully integrated retreat areas were created to support focused work within the open-space environment.

{

The result is an open and inspiring working environment with a strong sense of identity and a high level of comfort and spatial quality.
