Cooperation of superlatives

The WAGNER brand and the internationally renowned architects Titus Bernhard are planning the new WAGNER Design Lab with sedak, who are contributing the largest glass panel in the world.

The new building is designed to harmonise design and architecture at the highest level and – as with the development of the new D1 chair collection – to redefine the limits of what is possible. Mounted on slender stilts, the building forms a “floating stage” that completely covers the existing former home of the Wagner family.

The largest glass pane in the world

Four glass panes are planned, each measuring almost 3.51 x 20 metres. They are the largest insulating glass panels produced to date in the world. They represent the “shop window”, so to speak, in which WAGNER’s new chair collections will be presented to the world.

The building, which is almost seamlessly open on both long sides, becomes a design laboratory, showroom and workplace at the same time. Placed in the beautiful landscape of the company’s headquarters in Langenneufnach, it symbolises the brand’s open-mindedness towards new developments, new insights and new design challenges.

The planning and implementation of the WAGNER Design Lab is carried out by Titus Bernhard Architekten. The office in Augsburg currently employs 19 people and can look back on numerous competition successes, awards, teaching assignments, publications and successfully completed projects at home and abroad.
